Chicken Keeping Courses for Beginners/Advanced
I run chicken keeping courses at my home on the last Sunday of every month. As well as the opportunity to meet the chickens you receive a comprehensive set of notes in an electronic format. The course runs from 2pm.

The course Covers

  • How to pick a suitable garden spot
  • Building a Hen area or run
  • Day to day maintenance required to keep chickens
  • How to feed your chickens
  • How to hold a chicken
  • Hen health
  • Commonly used supplements
  • Treating a poorly hen

And of course you can ask lots of questions!

Refreshments are included - its important to sample some cake made with freshly laid eggs!

Course places are £20 per person and the course lasts approximately 2 hours (although with LOTS of questions we can sometimes overrun!). Older children are welcome but they will need to book and pay for a place.

Cupcakes & Chickens For Kids

During each school holiday I run a course combining cupcake making and learning about chickens aimed at younger children.

I am a qualified teacher and I am fully CRB checked. Course participants recieve a set of notes/activities and a certificate of attendence as well as 6 cupcakes baked and beautifully decorated by themselves.

We even put up a bouncy castle for a bit of down time, refreshments are provided and parents are welcome to stay.

Course places are £35 per child and the course lasts approximately 4 hours.
